I have recently began to think about whether there are any real friends left in the world. We all receive forwarded e-mails from so called friends, but do they ever answer you when you send them an actual letter to their e-mail?
My answer to this question is no! There seems to be no personal interaction between "friends" anymore, even when you live in the same town.

I recently got married and I have to tell you that while I was extremely happy on my wedding day, I was also very disappointed. I had invited my "friends" who live here in the same town. Most of them did not reply as to whether they were coming and out of those who did, one showed up. Mind you these are people that I have known for a number of years and I would not consider them mere acquaintances.
This tends to tell me that we are only "friends" on the internet and in my opinion friends do more than forward e-mails to one another. It also tells me that I have one "true friend".
I do not want to make this blog too personal, I just want to give some background as to my thinking on this subject.
I would really like to know if others are having the same types of experiences with their friends. Maybe this hub will get some to thinking and they will give a friend a call just to say hi. Maybe you'll go and visit a friend and tell them how much they mean to you.
The internet is a great source in keeping in touch with those who are far away from you, but what about the ones who live a few blocks or miles away from you?
Let me know your thoughts on this.
Please take the time to live life, enjoy having friends and make sure you do not fall victim to only having friends on the internet.
I was sitting in a restaurant the other day and over heard a conversation that disturbed me. A man was saying that Paypal called him at home and told him that they were going to send him $50.00 to his Paypal account within the hour. He said that it was legit. He also said that the money never showed up.
Can anyone tell me why Paypal would call anyone on the phone and send them $50.00 for no reason? Let me tell you, They Won't!
This was obviously someone trying to get his financial information and he let them do it!
Here is the perfect way to protect yourself from these scams;
1. Tell the caller that you will call the company at the number you have ALREADY been supplied with by the institution that they claim to be calling for and that you will settle the situation with the institution.
(a)This means banks, any payment processors, credit cards, etc.
(b)They will probably try to talk you out of it or try to give you another
number to call. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM - THEY ARE SCAMMERS!
2. Never.....and I mean NEVER give your personal information to anyone who calls you on the phone! Follow the procedure above in #1.
It is really that simple to protect yourself.
Remember that if something is too good to be true, it usually is!
And you did not win the lottery or inherit a bunch of money either!
You can check on a lot of scams by visiting Snopes as they have a ton of information about scams.
Have you seen the "opportunities" that say something like "Quit your job and earn $5,000 a week"? I am sure that you have!
Any so called company making those kind of claims are 9 times out of 10, a scam.
If someone was making that kind of money, do you really think that they would be sitting at their computer promoting links? I don't, I think they would be out enjoying life a lot!
Watch out for anything that makes a claim of a small fortune being made overnight or any other short frame of time.
I must admit that when I began my venture to earn online many years ago, that I thought it would be as simple as joining some matrix or mlm program. Was I ever wrong!
Earning online takes not only patience and drive, but it takes being smarter than the creators of those so called "Get Rich Overnight" plans. The only ones getting rich from those kinds of programs are the creators of them!
The honest truth is that you can earn online without having to pay anyone anything. I am not claiming that you can get rich or quit your regular job, but you can earn some extra money if you look in the right direction. I personally was lucky and met someone who pointed me in the right direction or I probably would still be paying those "scam artists" to earn nothing in return.
